A&D specialise in the renovation and conversion of period homes & properties in Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas.
Our many years of experience working on barn conversions, thatched cottages and listed buildings, has allowed us to master our craft, so that we are now one of the leading building companies renovating traditional properties. One of our key skills is being able to create modern extensions or repair period properties, in such a way that the end result is always in keeping with the building’s original features or style.
One of the ways we achieve this is with bespoke bricklaying to ensure that any brickwork we complete will match or enhance existing buildings. The use of specialist lime mortar for traditional brickwork and rendering also adds authenticity to the work we carry out.
Our attention to detail and the high specification of our building projects is what ensures our work is at a consistently high standard. Whether it’s restoring or replacing traditional oak beams, re-thatching a roof, or extending a listed building, we will apply our knowledge, craftsmanship and the highest quality materials to ensure your property looks nothing short of exceptional.
We are always fully engaged in the building and renovation work that we undertake, project managing every job from start to finish, and making ourselves available to assist and advise our clients on all aspects of the renovation, from choosing bathroom fixtures to selecting kitchen tiles.
In addition to renovating and refurbishing traditional properties we do also provide building services for new build projects and extensions. These projects reflect the high quality and luxury feel of the period homes we work on but simply translated into a modern building. Examples of the work we have completed include barn conversions for domestic and commercial use, listed building extensions, thatched cottage renovations and manor house refurbishment.
